There is no evidence that Iran is interfering in Iraq or sending operatives to the country, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said Aug. 14. Caldwell said Shiite forces had been training in Iraq and that recently manufactured Iranian weapons had been found in the country, but he said it was not known to what extent the activity was endorsed by Tehran.
