Mighty Oaks Recover After Hurricane Katrina

When the Louisiana city of New Orleans flooded after Hurricane Katrina, urban foresters—experts who care for trees in cities—were especially worried about members of the Live Oak Society in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The population of trees in Louisiana has finally made a (close) full recovery. The population might be struggling but you’ve got to care about the trees too! They are living beings. Now that they have grown back, People are free to plant more things like flowers of new trees to make the area look even more beautiful. Now people can be ready for the next flood that comes around, and be aware of the impact that the vegetation takes.
