OUr country does a lot for the kids that will represent it eventually...

Nearly a year has passed since Hurricane Katrina destroyed communities along the Gulf Coast, but many schools still have not fully recovered from the disaster. Students are left without important resources—like those in libraries.

For families who lost everything, the technology in library media centers was a valuable resource, allowing them to communicate with family and friends, search for jobs, and contact relief organizations. The school libraries that were open provided a way for communities to stay connected.
