Titanic - The Unsinkable - Remembered Everywhere
Paula Adhikari
Jul. 18, 2006
There are many boats that launch from various docks every single day. There are accidents on some of them, but it is very rare that you could be on a boat with which will have a casualty. Whenever something does go wrong on a ship, it is usually is a minor case. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t the possibility of a fatal crash.
Many people remember when the Titanic was boarding. It was called “unsinkable” by all who boarded the seemingly safe ship. When the passengers heard a sudden scratching on the side of the ship, and then in seconds, they were in the water. Thousands of people died that terrible night, all at the same place, for the same reason-shipwreck.
Just because the Titanic happened to be a large ship, doesn’t mean that smaller ships won’t end up getting into a disaster such as a shipwreck. Would the Titanic have survived if the ship had been smaller? What if there were less people on board? Could just one simple alteration in the ships procedure have saved the lives of practically thousands of people?
Scientists may still be coming up with various solutions to the questions of why the ship sank. There is the theory that there was a crack in the hull of the ship form the beginning. Another theory is that the iceberg that the Titanic had hit had such an impact the ship started shattering, right then and there. Perhaps someday, scientists will be able discover the reason the tragedy, but for now, the theory that the Titanic sank because of the iceberg, and the impact will dominate all of the others.
The Titanic has been America’s interest for a long time now. Just imagine if you were on that ship, and survived. Wouldn’t it just feel amazing? There were only a small number of survivors, and they are all very lucky. Most people have never been on a ship that has had that bad of an accident before, but I’m sure that we can all imagine it.
The Titanic was one of the few ships that sank that are remembered, even until today. If you were walk up to someone on the street and ask him or her about the Titanic, they would be able to respond to your inquiry. It was a tragic night that the Titanic went down, it would probably be in the well known coarse of history for a long time to come.
