Shakira and Chili Peppers lead MTV Video nominations

Latin pop star Shakira and funk-rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers led the field for next month's MTV Video Music Awards with seven nominations each, MTV said on Monday.
Madonna got five nominations, and so did pop-punk quartet Panic! at the Disco for the awards to be presented on August 31 in New York. Christina Aguilera received four nominations.
