It's no surprise that Sony didn''t have an advance critics screening of this cheesy kiddie comedy, which is based on Jason Lethcoe's superhero story "Zoom's Academy." Still, if August has turned the children in your life into Bored Girl and Fidget Boy, you could find worse ways to keep them entertained.
It would take powers of the highest magnitude to rescue this movie from its cheap special effects and ultracorny script, let alone the life-draining antics of cast member Chevy Chase. But help does arrive in the form of cheerfully game lead Tim Allen.
